H&M has been dealing with lots of backlash after having a black kid style pose in a hoodie with the phrases “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” around the entrance. The sweatshirt sparked outrage on the net with many of us calling for a boycott of the logo. The Weeknd, who has launched two collections with H&M, introduced that he’s finishing his partnership with the trend store in a tweet pronouncing, “Woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. I’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore…” Countless fanatics praised the Canadian singer for taking a stand at the now viral sweatshirt.
A spokesperson for H&M Canada has since apologized in a remark to HuffPost Canada pronouncing, “We completely understand and agree with [The Weeknd’s] reaction to the image. We are deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. We have removed the image from all our channels and the sweater is no longer for sale in our stores.
